Semax is a synthetic heptapeptide developed in Russia, based on a fragment of ACTH (adrenocorticotropic hormone) but without hormonal effects. It is one of the most well-known nootropic peptides — used for cognitive enhancement, focus, memory, neuroprotection, and stroke recovery. Mechanism of Action
Semax increases BDNF (brain-derived neurotrophic factor) and NGF (nerve growth factor) — key proteins for neuronal growth, plasticity, and survival. Available in 5 mg and 10 mg vials. 5 mg vial reconstituted with 2 mL bac water → 2.5 mg/mL: 10 units (0.1 mL) = 250 mcg. 10 mg vial with 2 mL bac water → 5 mg/mL: 5 units (0.05 mL) = 250 mcg. Cycle 2–4 weeks on, 1–2 weeks off, or use as needed.
Research Status
Approved pharmaceutical in Russia for stroke, cognitive disorders, and optic nerve atrophy. Limited Western clinical data.
