Tissue Repair & Healing Research chemical

TB-500

Also known as: Thymosin Beta-4, TB4 Fragment

TB-500 is a synthetic fragment of Thymosin Beta-4, a naturally occurring 43-amino-acid peptide present in nearly all human cells. It plays a major role in cell migration, tissue repair, anti-inflammation, and new blood vessel formation. Widely used by athletes and individuals recovering from injury for its systemic healing effects.

Half-Life

~6 hours

Common Dose

2–2.5 mg per week (loading); 1–2 mg per week maintenance

Route

Subcutaneous or intramuscular injection

Frequency

1–2x weekly for maintenance; daily for acute injury loading

Mechanism of Action

TB-500 binds and sequesters G-actin, the monomeric form of actin, regulating cytoskeletal dynamics and enabling cell migration to injured sites. It promotes angiogenesis (new blood vessel formation), reduces inflammatory cytokines, increases stem cell migration, and accelerates wound healing throughout the body — making it a 'systemic' healing peptide.

Reported Benefits

  • Systemic tissue repair and recovery
  • Anti-inflammatory effects
  • Promotes angiogenesis
  • Accelerated healing of muscles, tendons, ligaments
  • Hair growth support
  • Reduced scar tissue formation
  • Improved flexibility and joint mobility
  • Cardiac and neural protection (animal studies)

Side Effects

  • !Generally well-tolerated
  • !Mild lethargy or fatigue (initial)
  • !Injection site irritation
  • !Headache (rare)
  • !Mild flu-like symptoms (rare, early doses)

Dosage Protocol

Common dose2–2.5 mg per week (loading); 1–2 mg per week maintenance
Range2–10 mg per week (loading dose for acute injuries)
Frequency1–2x weekly for maintenance; daily for acute injury loading
AdministrationSubcutaneous or intramuscular injection

Notes

10 mg vial — reconstitute with 2 mL bac water → 5 mg/mL: 20 units (0.2 mL) = 1 mg. Typical loading: 2.5–5 mg weekly split into 2 doses for 4–6 weeks, then maintenance at 1–2 mg/week. Banned in most competitive sports — check before use.

Research Status

Extensively researched. Used in veterinary medicine. Banned by WADA for athletes.

Contraindications

  • Active malignancy (promotes angiogenesis — theoretical concern)
  • Pregnancy and breastfeeding
  • Known hypersensitivity
  • Competitive athletes subject to drug testing

Storage

Lyophilized: refrigerate. Reconstituted: refrigerate, use within 30 days.

Legal Status

Research chemical. Not approved for human therapeutic use. WADA-banned.
