Mechanism of Action

Tirzepatide activates two receptors simultaneously: GLP-1 (suppresses appetite, slows gastric emptying, improves insulin secretion) and GIP (enhances insulin sensitivity and supports fat metabolism). The dual-agonist effect produces greater weight loss and glycemic control than GLP-1 monotherapy (e.g., Semaglutide).

Notes

5 mg vial — reconstitute with 2 mL bac water → 2.5 mg/mL: 4 units (0.04 mL) = 100 mcg (so 100 units = 2.5 mg). Always titrate slowly to minimize GI side effects. Pair with adequate protein intake (1g/lb body weight) and resistance training to preserve muscle mass during weight loss.
