Kisspeptin

Kisspeptin is the master regulator of the reproductive axis (HPG axis). It is the upstream signal that triggers GnRH release from the hypothalamus, which in turn stimulates LH and FSH production from the pituitary, ultimately leading to testosterone or estrogen production in the gonads. Mechanism of Action
Kisspeptin binds to its receptor (KISS1R/GPR54) on GnRH neurons in the hypothalamus, triggering pulsatile GnRH release. This drives downstream LH/FSH release from the pituitary, which stimulates the gonads to produce testosterone or estrogen. It is the most upstream activator of the HPG axis and provides a more physiological way to restore sex hormone production than direct hormone administration.
